The more people who participate in Plastic Free Communities, the more awareness you raise and the more action on the ground you can take. Community ownership and empowerment creates a movement everyone can feel part of and contribute to. Through community action you can contribute to Citizen Science and SAS campaigns to influence government and industry

Surfers Against Sewage, Community Toolkit

• At least two community events organised by your Plastic Free Community group and made open for all to attend, in one calendar year

Two of our community groups hold regular clean ups throughout the year that are open for anyone to attend.

• Highcliffe and Walkford In Bloom organise litter picks in the village, these are advertised and anyone can go along to help
• Highcliffe Beach Clean Team organise quarterly beach clean events, open to anyone, on Highcliffe Beach
• There are also other beach clean events throughout the year at Highcliffe Beach and at Highcliffe Castle Beach, run by local beach cleaner, Seashorty.
